Snow Joke!!

Probably like the rest of the country, I've now had enough of the 'white stuff'. It's really starting to cheese me off. (Although I do expect the kid's are loving it!)

I was just beginning to get back into the swing of things after the New Year holidays, when suddenly because of the extreme weather everything comes to an abrupt stand-still.

My family have noticed that I've become a little grouchy over the last few days, maybe its just because of my age, but I know it's because I'm unable to get on with my life. My psychiatrist says that it's because I'm a control freak. (I don't really have a psychiatrist - but I've got the next best thing.)

My wife says - that I should really look at it from a different perspective - "see it as an extra holiday, chill-out" she says - The only thing is - I don't want any more holiday and I'm already chilled-out due to the freezing weather - I've had enough - I just want warmer weather and to go back to my normal everyday routine.

The weather forecast today is for yet more snow over the weekend, especially here in the East. So I've taken my wife's advice - I've decided not to moan anymore, to stay indoors and try and do something positive, like play my Saxophone, or do some more writing for example, hence the reason for this post.

For anyone who does have to venture out - take care and wrap up warm !!!

Bad Weather

While much of the country is suffering with extreme bad weather conditions, here in Sunny Suffolk the large amounts of snow experienced by other counties in the UK has not effected us half as badly.

I totally sympathise with you if you are one of those people who have had there lives disrupted by the extreme weather - I hate it!

If you've read any of my previous posts you'll know that I have a dislike for the cold weather. Call me 'Southerner Softy' if you like - but give me a warm climate any day and roll on the Spring.

Bring Me Sunshine

Once again its a lovely sunny but cold Sunday afternoon and I've just returned home after having another brisk walk along the seafront promenade at Southwold in Suffolk.

When the sun shines brightly it just makes you look at the world in a different light and lifts your spirits and banishes the doom and gloom away.

I considered myself as a pretty optimistic type of person and I always try to see the good in every situation.

The only thing that really gets me down-hearted is those cold dark days. However I've recently discovered something to occupy my attention during the darkest of days.

I'll tell you more about my new past-time in my next blog.

FREEEEZING

For the past week the weather has been freezing. Most nights it has been at least -3 degrees if not colder. Knowing how much I dislike the cold I have tried to hibernate, but unfortunately most evenings I have had to venture out.

Today the weather has become slightly milder and the sun is shinning brightly, so I think this calls for a trip down to the seaside with my wife Ali and a brisk walk along the beach. I'll take some photo's to add to the blog later and while you're there check out my new hat, it's been really effective over the cold period, keeping my ears nice and warm.
