As you may have already noticed the Fighting Fit blog has a fresh new look about it for 2010!
Thanks to my daughter Rachel, one of her gifts to me this Christmas was producing a stylish new look for my blog and I have to say - I love it.
Last year Rachel started her own new business called - Apparition Marketing & Design Ltd., which basically entails building websites, producing designs and providing marketing support for organisations and businesses.
Over the past seven or eight months Rachel has been working extremely hard to not only build up her portfolio, but to also establish herself in a very competitive industry.
Like most businesses the first three years are so crucial for survival. I'm not sure of the exact statistic but it's something like one in three of all business that start up will not reach their third year of trading.
Of course when most businesses initially start up there will always be teething problems. Through my own experience this is when business owners need guidance and support from whatever source it may arrive.
I know that Rachel has taken the time to affiliate herself with several local business groups. These have not only brought her lots of advice and needed support, but they have also provided her with connections to help her locate premises, as well as developing new sources of work.
I would like dedicate this post to not only thanking Rachel for producing me with a wonderful revamped blog-site, but also congratulating her on her first year in Business. "Well done Duckey." You've made ya old dad proud.
Incidentally, Rachel's drive and determination has subsequently brought her a nomination for the East Of England - Young Business Woman Of The Year'.
So good luck for that Rachey - Results will be announced at a special gala dinner ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Stanstead on the 4th February 2010.
